I collected ALL the best fall crafts for all ages of kids on the internet!! Most of these are self explanatory from the pictures, but the project websites are linked in case you want instructions.
They’re in age order, so if you’re looking for kids or teens crafts, scroll down!
Fall Crafts for Toddlers
Quick disclaimer… we have 5 children. I am not interested in any toddler craft that requires me to craft while my toddler plays with a bottle of glue.
And I can tell when adults are doing the crafting on kids activities blogs because the crafts look perfect. LOL
So, this is a realistic list of toddler crafts. No origami required.
I also have a fall activities post for toddlers that has 40 more ideas – most of which have ZERO prep. I’m honestly not a huge crafty mom… I’d much rather go on an “i spy fall nature things” walk or have my kid scrub their pumpkins outside in a bucket of water than give my 2 year old glitter. But hey, to each their own!!
Paint Pumpkins
Let your kids pick out a variety of sizes of pumpkins. Set them up with a giant roll of paper indoors or an old sheet or picnic table cover outdoors.
Tear Up Tissue Paper
Toddlers love ripping paper! And it’s a great fine motor activity.
Maybe Glue the Tissue Paper to a Plate to Make a Pumpkin
You’d have to provide the black triangles for the jack o lantern, but they’d probably think it was pretty cute. I love providing a TINY bit of glue in a dish with a Q tip for little ones to glue with. Another option is you could put the glue on the plate and the toddler could just press the tissue paper on the glue.
Toothpick Poke Pumpkins
Paint Leaves
You’ll want fresh leaves. Tempera paint is usually easier to wash out of clothes than acrylic paint! This is a great little kid tempera paint set.
Laminated Leaves
My kids all LOVE to use our laminator. Haha and there’s a little button to make it “go.” I don’t know if this really counts as a craft, but you could have your toddler choose a bunch of leaves to laminate and then help you with it.
Fall PlayDough
Your toddler could help make the playdough using this recipe! Another day could be for collecting nature items, and then a 3rd day could be for playing with them together.
Fall Leaf Rubbing
Some toddlers would be able to hold the crayons sideways and some would need your assistance.
Glue Tissue Paper on Pumpkins
Let your toddler tear a bunch of tissue paper.
I’d put some glue in a dish with a cheap paint brush. Show your child how to paint glue onto the pumpkin. Then let them stick tissue paper on.
You could let them paint a layer of modge podge on at the end if you want.
Tissue Paper Fall Tree
You can use the child’s hand print to create the tree trunk or you can just cut out a trunk shape from brown construction paper.
Thankful Tree
Your toddler can hole punch and thread string on these leaves. Toddlers will enjoy collecting sticks to make the “tree” and hanging the leaves too.
